Congratulations to our EHLp Thunder on having 3 participants selected to the EHLp All Star game. Dean Ponik (05 F) and Tyler Gobel (04 F), along with Head Coach and Asst. GM Sam Tafel will be representing the Thunder at the Annual EHLp All Star Game on 1/14 8pm. Tyler Gobel and Dean Ponik are both products of the Union Thunder Youth Program, where they were both stand out players. Dean Ponik is even still currently a Top 5 All Time Scorer for the youth program, and Tyler Gobel was a main contributor to several successful youth teams. Both developed the right way through the Union Thunder program, and took their talents to the next level with the Union Thunder EHLp Team. 

Sam Tafel was a part of the Thunder youth program for several years before making the jump with the several players to the EHLp team. Sam’s focus on development has resulted in the success and advancement of local NJ players to the junior level as well as the college ranks.

In a short amount of time the Thunder have already had  a player called up to EHL, a player tendered to EHL Applecore for next year, several D1 ACHA offers.
